Montly Update: July-August

Darrett was told he must update his page as it is slowly degenerating into a pale representation of his current life. July and August so far have been fun. It's been a very, very busy time in my life, getting used to being a new Pediatric intern. I think all of us are adjusting well. I'm going to be finishing my stint on the wards soon; I move to Adolescent Medicine next. I'm looking forward to normal sleeping times. Other than that, I've hung out with friends from college and medical school on my few free days. I got myself a spiffy new Sprint PCS cell phone that rings with Tigger Bouncing. And I sit and read Jennifer's online journal. I contacted a friend in New Haven CT (yes, she's going to Yale) using the spiffy new cell phone with long distance. So what have I learned?:

  1. Sleeping is a luxury, take it whenever you can.
  2. Life is more fun with friends.
  3. Don't wait for people to contact you, take the first step and call them.
  4. Cell phones are fun, especially when you can make them Disneyfied.
  5. Having a paycheck is really, really cool. Especially when you haven't had one in over 2 years. And now you make more in 1 week than you used to make in 1 month.

LIFE SATISFACTION: Looking good, at an all time high.
Oh, and just a sidenote: Jennifer (otherwise known as Jenn) was rambling on about nicknames. I never really had one either, but she named me Ratboy.
